Our orthodontic services
Dra Flavia Miranda
Doctora Flavia Miranda received her dental degree from the National University of Córdoba, in Argentina, and her postgraduate degree in Orthodontics at the Argentina Society of Orthodontics. Here she trained with many well-known orthodontic doctors and became an expert in the latest technological advances in orthodontics, orthopedics and maxiofacial dentistry.
Flavia has lived in Spain since 2003. She had her degree recognised by the University of Murcia and continues to attend conferences, to keep up with the latest trends and techniques in orthodontics.
Flavia's guiding principles are that extraction should be avoided and the best use made of time. She also believes that there is no age limit for having a nice healthy smile.
At Calpe Dental
Flavia is at Calpe Dental on Thursdays, by appointment only. To make an appointment, simply telephone 96 583 5657 or call in at the clinic between 9:00 and 5:30.
Your first consultation
Your first consultation is free of charge. Flavia will take a look at your teeth—or your child's teeth—and let you know if orthodontic treatment will be beneficial.
On the basis of this consultation, together with X-rays and study models, Flavia will be able to prepare a quotation and an estimate of how long treatment will take.
Braces are fitted to the teeth and, with the aid of wire, the teeth are moved—over a period of time. We can offer you many different types of brace: from the normal metal bracket to something more cosmetic and less noticeable, such as a ceramic brace, to clear removable braces such as Invisalign. Once the braces are removed a period of retention is prescribed, to make sure the teeth stay in position and give time for the root to fuse with the jaw bone.
Included in the initial quotation are orthodontic check-ups at 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year after the braces are removed.
Since the average time for treatment is around 18 months, Calpe Dental offer a payment plan to spread the cost of the treatment. We usually ask for an initial payment of 30%, to be paid on the day treatment starts (and the braces put on). The balance is then divided by the number of months that the treatment will take.
