Questions we are often asked
Do you accept Form E111/EHIC?
The European Health Insurance Card has replaced the E111 form. It is only valid in the Spanish NHS system.
Do you accept Form E121?
Form E121 entitles UK pensioners to treatment on the Spanish NHS. We are a private clinic, not part of the Spanish NHS, so you cannot use Form E121. However, many people on the Spanish NHS also use our services.
Do you issue medical certificates?
Yes, we issue certificates for a variety of purposes, as patients require them.
What if I have medical insurance?
We accept patients with several Northern European and American insurance companies (BUPA, Norwich Union/Aviva, etc.) You will need to pay us first, then use our receipt to claim on your company.
We do not at the moment take patients with Spanish medical insurance.
Do you carry out home visits?
Yes, in an emergency, when a patient cannot possibly come in to the clinic.
Do you liaise with British GPs?
Yes. We regularly produce reports for GPs in the UK (and other countries).

Our highly qualified medical team offers a full range of services
Screenings and well-person health checks
will include an initial hour and a half with the nurse. You can also expect a full hour's consultation with the doctor. Find out more.
Surgery
Dr Evans regularly carries out minor surgical operations, such as removing lesions or moles, biopsies, repairing fresh wounds, and removing foreign objects.
He also carries out operations in his area of special expertise—cranio-facial, maxillo-facial and ENT (ear, nose and throat) operations.
Hospitals
We work closely with local private hospitals, where we can arrange out-patient appointments, investigations and—where necessary—admissions.
The clinic in Albir
Dr Evans set up the English Medical Clinic in July 2007. It is fully insured, and we are registered to practise medicine in Spain.
The clinic is a happy, friendly, relaxed place, where we allow patients the time they need. Patients who have been away in the UK often pop in as soon as they come back, just to say hello.
